On May 20, 2012 discover your inner champion at the Chicagoland Spring Marathon and Half Marathon. Get excited to run this USATF certified course/Boston qualifier starting on the streets of Schaumburg’s commercial district. Share in the camaraderie, celebrate your accomplishment and of course take home your custom finisher’s medal and long sleeve moisture wicking 1/4 zip shirt.
This marathon is conveniently located right in the heart of Chicagoland surrounded by excitement, hotels, restaurants and shopping.
COURSE
The 26.2 mile marathon and 13.1 mile half marathon courses are USATF certified. The marathon is a Boston qualifier. The course will start in the business district of Schaumburg before touring into scenic Busse Woods featuring serene lakes, forests and prairie. Miles will be marked along the course to help you keep pace with your goal time! Aide stations with water and sports drink as well as toilets will be located along the course, see course map for locations. Possible spectator locations are also shown on maps. CHICAGO HALF MARATHON SERIES
You do NOT need to be part of the series to participate in the half marathon. The half marathon category is part of the “Chicago Half Marathon Series.” The series is open to all levels and age categories, click here.

There will be pacers to help you achieve your goal time. Pacers will be at the start holding a sign of the pace they will be consistently running. Run with these pacers and they will help keep you on track to achieve a personal record or qualify for Boston. GENERAL NOTES
This event is chip timed using bib chip technology. Your "chip" is integrated with your bib. You must wear your bib visibly on your front to be electronically timed.

Runners and walkers can participate in this event as long as the participant can finish within the event time limit, see schedule.
All participants are required to read and sign the event waiver form. Click mail in registration link on registration page to view event waiver.
Monitored gear check will be provided. Pick up and drop off will be at the start/finish area. The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.
During hours of operation the Forest Preserve District of Cook County is always open to the public unless otherwise noted by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. Please visit Forest Preserve District of Cook County website for rules and regulations which are in effect throughout the event.
Water stations include water and sports drink.
If at anytime you are in need of assistance throughout the event please notify a volunteer or course monitor.

The event will start rain, snow or shine. The event could be delayed due to lightning or other dangerous conditions. Above schedule is weather dependent.
