GIVING BACK
The Great Midwest Marathon and Endurance Festival believes that donating to positive organizations is part of its role in the community. Both of these organizations help out with the event by providing volunteers.
Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah Athletic Association
Since the late 1960's, the Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah Athletic Association (ELGAA) has been providing organized youth sports for families of the adjoining Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah school district and surrounding Sheboygan County area. The Association has been a staple in the community for raising funds which support numerous organizations and charitable events.
The Wade House
The Wade House is a historic site is a complex featuring the Stage Coach Inn. Built in 1850 by Yankee settlers this was a resting point for Midwest travelers. The site offers all sorts of interesting and educational tours and is one of the many gems in the Elkhart Area.
Wade House Historic Site celebrates the world of plank road travel, horse-drawn transportation, and mid-19th century settlement and town building. A guided tour of a stately, 27-room 1860s stagecoach inn, the rumble of an up-and-down saw, the ring of the blacksmith's anvil, the delight of an old-fashioned horse-drawn wagon ride, and the wonder of Wisconsin's largest collection of carriages and wagons await each visitor to the site. In addition to our daily programming, host of special programs and events in 2010 expands and enriches the Wade House experience.
