The Great Midwest Inline Marathon and Half Marathon offers a great course touring through Wisconsin’s beautiful countryside. The ceremonial start and exciting multi-sport finish area in downtown Elkhart Lake will surely deliver participants an unforgettable experience. The marathon, full and half is a great course for recreational skaters and offers good competition for advanced skaters. The marathon is part of the NROC series. Before the event participants can visit the multi sport expo and after the event enjoy live entertainment and endurance athlete camaraderie at the post event party. If a marathon is not enough skating for you there is also a criterium on Saturday and a 2 man time trial on Monday.
PACKET PICK UP/EXPO
Packets will be available for pick up at the Osthoff Resort Ballroom only. While there, check out the festival expo with running, biking, and inline skating exhibitors. Packets will be available during specified packet pick up times only. To pick up your packet you will be required to sign a waiver and present valid photo ID. If you are picking up a packet for another participant you must bring a signed waiver and a copy of their photo ID. Don’t forget about the expo!
GOODIES
Technical Short Sleeve Shirts (front and back print), event bib number, and a bag full of goodies will be provided to all participants. Placement awards will also be given, see below.
INLINE MARATHON & HALF MARATHON COURSE AND AWARDS:
Sunday, May 30
The 26.2 mile marathon and half marathon start in celebratory fashion in downtown Elkhart Lake. After touring through town the course travels onto a 6 mile scenic loop, (3 loops for the marathon and 1 for the half marathon). The finish is in Elkhart Lake at the same location as other festival events making for an action packed experience. The marathon is an NROC event. Water stations will be provided on course and medical service will be stationed at the finish line. Please see course map for water stations, suggested spectator spots, and parking locations. Awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants, male and female in each age group and overall for the marathon and half marathon. Age groups are as follows: u18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60 and 61+
CRITERIUM COURSE AND AWARDS:
Saturday, May 29
The criterium is a tight .5 Mile course in the heart of Elkhart Lake for inline speed skaters. Participants race continuous loops for a specified time rather than a specified distance. Integrated with the cycling criterium their will also be a famed one on one, bike vs. skate 100 meter dash for all to watch. CRITERIUM COURSE MAP click here

2 MAN TEAM TIME TRIAL COURSE AND AWARDS:
Monday, May 29
The 2 man team time trial is 13 mile pursuit on a 6.5 mile course. Teams can have 2-3 members but must finish with at least 2 members together. For the TIME TRIAL COURSE MAP click here
Awards are given to top 3 male, female and mixed teams.
FESTIVAL ENTERTAINMENT
You skated, cheered or volunteered all your energy away but the fun has just begun. Experience what this event is all about at the nightly festival entertainment. Enjoy food, live entertainment, and the camaraderie that makes this event so special. All are invited! Elkhart Lake is a beautiful vacation spot, so bring the family.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This event is chip timed. All timing chips will be available at packet pick up. It is the participant’s responsibility to return their timing chips and to pay any fees for any unreturned timing chips.
Gear check will be provided for at all skate events. Pick up and drop off will be at the start and finish respectfully. The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Weather: The average temperature is 61 degrees Fahrenheit. It is the participant’s responsibility to choose the proper clothing, nutrition and hydration for the event day weather.
Headphones are prohibited from all inline events.
Helmets are required for all inline skating events and must be worn at all times you are wearing your skates throughout the weekend.
Spectators should view the course map for suggested spectator spots and road closures. |
