The Tour of Elkhart Lake offers 3 days of exciting ABR sanctioned cycling racing.  Race one day or all three.  Points from each race add up for an overall tour winner in each category.  That’s right, all categories from entry level to pro have their own tour.  On Saturday the action heats up with a criterium in the heart of Elkhart Lake.  The action continues with a road race on Sunday and an Individual Time Trial on Monday.  Get ready for a one weekend tour, three races, and tons of excitement!

PACKET PICK UP
Packets will be available for pick up at the Osthoff Resort Ballroom only, 101 Osthoff Ave, Elkhart Lake, Wi 53020.  While there, check out the running, biking, and inline skating exhibitors.  Packets will be available during specified packet pick up times only, see schedule.  To pick up your packet you will be required to sign a waiver and present valid photo ID.  If you are picking up a packet for another participant you must bring a signed waiver and a copy of their photo ID.

CRITERIUM INFORMATION:
Saturday, May 29
The criterium is a 1/2 mile course in the heart of Elkhart Lake.  Criteriums are the most popular type of racing in the USA in which participants race continuous loops for a specified time rather than a specified distance, very spectator friendly.  This exciting event favor cyclist with good agility.  Awards will be given to top 5 in each category.  After the racing has finished there will be the famous one on one, bike vs. skate 100 Meter Dash for all to watch.  CRITERIUM COURSE MAP click here

ROAD RACE INFORMATION:
Sunday, May 30
The road race tours through Wisconsin’s beautiful countryside on a 6.5 Mile course.  Participants will race for a specified time or distance, whichever comes first.  Awards will be given to top 3 in each category.  ROAD COURSE AND TTT MAP click here

INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL INFORMATION:
Monday, May 31
The invidual time trial is a 40 kilometer pursuit on the same course as the road race.  Cyclist must complete the distance themselves to achieve the shortest time possible.  Cyclist will complete 4 laps on a 6.5 mile course.  This event favors individuals who can maintain a fast and steady pace throughout the distance. Times will be recorded when the second team member crosses the finish line.  Participant start order and intervals will be specified closer to the event.  Awards will be given to top 3 in each category.  ROAD COURSE AND TTT MAP click here

TOUR  INFORMATION:
The tour is an exciting three stage race consisting of a criterium, road race, and time trial.  Participants can race one or all three stages.  Points are added from each stage in each category to determine overall tour winners.  The tour is not scored based upon time, only points.  Participants must have raced all three stages to take top 3 placements.  
Scoring:  In each stage the top 10 finishers will be awarded points on the following scale: 16, 13, 11, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Every participant receives one point for finishing each stage.  The participant with the most amount of points at the end of all three races wins the tour.  Ties are broken by the winner of the road race.

AWARDS:
Medals are awarded to the top 3 placements from each stage in each category. Medals will also be awarded to the top 3 placements for the overall tour in each category. $1000 purse will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the tour for male and female in Cat 1, 2 & 3.

GENERAL INFORMATION
This event is sanctioned by ABR.  All scoring will be done by ABR officials.  All ABR rules apply to this event. and it is the participants responsiility to know them.

If you are not an ABR member a temp membership is available for $5

Gear check will be provided for all bike events.  Pick up and drop off will be at the start and finish respectfully.  The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Weather:  The average temperature is 61 degrees Fahrenheit.  It is the participant’s responsibility to choose the proper clothing, equipment, nutrition and hydration for the event day weather/conditions.

Headphones are prohibited from all cycling events.

Helmets are required for all cycling events.  Helmets must be worn at any time you are with your bike during any part of the weekend.

Spectators should view the course map for suggested spectator spots and road closures.
