Deerfield Turkey Trot

The Deerfield Turkey Trot will take place the day after Thanksgiving. Come work off that turkey by participating in the 4 mile run, 2 mile walk or free kids run on the beautiful trails of Prairie Wolf Slough.  Warm up with hot beverages at the finish line.  All participants will receive a long sleeve shirt and are helping to support Special Olympics IL.

COURSE LOCATION & MAP

The event starts out of Deerfield High School and winds into Prairie Wolf Slough Forest Preserve.  Runners are taken on a 4 mile tour, while the walkers follow a 2.5 mile course. The course is on a crushed limestone path.  The free Kids Run is located at the start finish line.  Parking and registration/packet pick-up is located at:

CATEGORY/AWARDS

Long Sleeve Shirts will be provided to all participants in the 4 mile run and 2.5 mile walk. Custom medal awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants, male and female in each age group and overall for the 4 mile run.

4 Mile Age Groups:
14 & under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 & 60+

The FREE kids run participants recieve a finisher's ribbon and Medal Awards for top 3. A shirt is not included.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

A portion of every registration goes straight to Special Olympics Illinois.

NOTES

Dogs are not allowed

The course is open to the public during the event and participants are responsible for taking proper caution.

It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.

Strollers are allowed in the 2.5 mile walk.

In late November weather and trail conditions can be variable.
There could be the potential for ice. It is the participants responsibility to take proper caution.
