5k & 8k Run/Walk & Tiny Trot

Come Thanksgiving morning and run the downtown historic streets of Long Grove finishing under the famous covered bridge! The diverse and very beautiful course is USATF certified. Wake up, have fun with family and friends while working up a big appetite for your Thanksgiving turkey. This event is for everyone: walkers and runners, young and old.

NEW 2011 COURSE

New faster and more scenic USATF certified course for 2011. Run downtown on the famous streets lined with the quaint shops of Long Grove. Start and finish under the historic covered bridge! The course is mostly flat with a water station along the way. Portable toilets are located at the start/finish line. See course map for all information.

CATEGORY/AWARDS

Long Sleeve Shirts will be provided to all participants. Custom medal awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants male and female overall and top 3 in each age group.
14 & under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 & 60+

Tiny Trot finisher award to all participants.

PARKING

Convenient parking is located at the northeast and southeast corner of Robert Parker Coffin Rd and Old McHenry Rd just behind the shops.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS IL

A portion of every registration goes straight to Special Olympics Illinois.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Professional event photos will be made available online for about $1 after the event. Smile for the camera!

GENERAL NOTES

Event will start rain, shine or snow. Event could be delayed do to lightning or other possibly dangerous conditions.

Event is Chip Timed. Your bib contains your timing chip. You must wear your bib on your front across your stomach to be electronically timed.

Course conditions on event day could be variable including the potential for water, ice & snow. It is the participants responsibility to take proper caution.

All participants are required to sign a waiver to be considered a participant.

Dogs are not allowed.

Their is no age limit for the 5k & 8k run. It is the participant's or paricipant's parents responsibility to determine whether they are healthy enough to complete the distance safely.

Walkers with strollers are allowed on course and it is the participants responsibility to take proper caution.

It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers. Course could have vehicle traffic in some sections.
