INFORMATION:

The Naperville Trails Half Marathon on September 15th offers a scenic course on the beautiful crushed limestone paths of Danada Forest Preserve.  This event is a great way to prepare for fall marathons.  All participants receive an event technical shirt, event finisher’s medal and event bib number.

Sunday, September 14:
7:00 a.m - Regular parking opens.
7:00-8:10 a.m. - Offsite parking shuttle bus pick up
7:20 a.m. - Last Minute Packet Pick Up at start/finish location Opens
7:20 a.m. - Gear Check Opens
8:15 a.m.
- Last Minute Packet Pick Up Closes
8:30 a.m. - Half Marathon Start

10:15 a.m. - Awards
Course is open for 3.5 hours

COURSE INFORMATION:
The 13.1 mile USATF certified course takes runners on a scenic tour weaving through Danada Forest Preserve .  The course is on crushed limestone path. Water stations with sports drink and port-a-potties will be provided along the course, see map for locations. Medical service will be stationed at the finish area. Parking information provided below. MOTIVATIONAL PACERS:
Pacers will help you achieve your goal time. At the start look for a runner holding a sign with one of the times below. This runner will run this pace consistently throughout the race and help motivate you to keep up! These runners are dedicated to help lead you to one of the goal times listed below:

1:35:00 (7:15 per mile)
1:40:00 (7:38 per mile)
1:45:00 (8:00 per mile)
1:50:00 (8:24 per mile
1:55:00 (8:47 per mile)
2:00:00 (9:10 per mile)
2:10:00 (9:55 per mile)
2:20:00 (10:40 per mile)

PARKING INFORMATION:
Limited parking is available at the start/finish location. Convenient offsite parking is located at the Depaul University Naperville Campus. From the offsite parking area a short free shuttle ride will take participants to the start/finish location. After the events the shuttle will take participants back to the parking area. CATEGORY/AWARDS:
Awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants, male and female in each age group and overall for the individual half marathon. If you place in the top 3 overall you will not be included in the age group awards.
14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,60-64 & 65+


GENERAL INFORMATION:
This event is chip timed. The timing chip is disposable and is integrated with the bib number.

This event helps to raise money for Special Olympics IL.

All participants are required to read and sign the event waiver form.

Runners and walkers can participate in this event. See shedule for how long the course time limit. After the time limit has passed participants are not guaranteed a finish time.

Monitored Gear check will be provided. 
Pick up and drop off will be at the start/finish area.  The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Headphones/iPod/mp3 devices are strongly not recommended.  It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.

During hours of operation Dupage Forest Preserves are always open to the public unless otherwise noted by the Dupage Forest Preserve. Please visit Forest Preserve District of Dupage County website for forest preserve rules and possible users of the trail.

Spectators should view the course map for possible spectator locations.

Water stations include water and sports drink.

Packet Pick Up is a time and place where participants can go to pick up their event shirt, bib number and timing chip before the event so they can be prepared on event morning. The packet includes necessary information and/or materials for the event.

The event will start rain, shine or snow. The event could be delayed do to lightning.

September weather can be very hot or cold. It is the participant's responsibilty to be prepared to run at all temperatures and conditions.
