INFORMATION

Come run or walk a 5k the Saturday just after Thanksgiving at Chicago's famous Grant Park. Work off your thanksgiving feast with family and friends and don't forget to bring the little ones for the Free Kid's Dash. All 5k participants receive a long sleeve souvenir shirt.

COURSE
This exciting 5k course starting at Grant Park provides great views of Chicago's Skyscrapers, Lakefront and Field Museum. Water station will be provided along the course.

Awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants, male and female in each age group and overall. Age Groups:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 & 60+

GENERAL NOTES
This event is chip timed.  Participants wear a small timing chip on their shoe or around their ankle that starts their time when they cross the start line and ends their time when the cross the finish line.  Chips will be available on event morning only at the start/finish area at the quick and easy chip pick up area. It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure they are wearing their timing chip throughout the race and that they return it after crossing the finish line.  Participants may be charged a fee for lost timing chips.

Runners and walkers can participate in this event.

All participants are required to read and sign the event waiver form.  Click mail in registration link or waiver link on registration page for event waiver.

Monitored gear check will be provided.  Pick up and drop off will be at the start/finish area.  The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear, see, sense, and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.

During hours of operation the Chicago Park District is always open to the public unless otherwise noted by the Chicago Park District. Please visit Chicagoparkdistrict.com for rules and regulations which are in effect throughout the duration of the event.

Water stations include water and sports drink.

If at anytime you are in need of assistance throughout the event please notify a volunteer or course monitor.

Strollers are allowed for walkers

No dogs.

The event will start rain, snow or shine. The event could be delayed due to lightning or other dangerous conditions.  Above schedule is weather dependent.  Trail conditions could be variable.
